TOP TEN Character Names

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

Basically, all of Kristin Cashore's character names.
1. Katsa from Graceling
2. Po from Graceling
3. Bitterblue from Graceling/Bitterblue
4. Fire from Fire

And, of course there needs to be a Libba Bray shout-out.
5. Gemma Doyle from A Great and Terrible Beauty

And Laini Taylor's Daughter of Smoke and Bone, of course!
6. Karou
7. Zusana

Can't forget about John Green.
8. Augustus Waters from The Fault in our Stars

You certainly can't leave out the Harry Potter series, either.
9. Hermione Granger

And my absolute favorite:
10. Peter Pan from, well, Peter Pan.

Which character names are you favorite? Share any of mine?

  1. All right! Good to see another lover of Kristin Cashore's names, I only put Fire on my list but I love Bitterblue. Also, Karou's name is brilliant.

  2. LOVE Karou, Katsa and Gemma! I really don't like Augustus though. It was too stuffy and formal for TFIOS. Great list and thanks for checking out Swept Away By Books!

    1. I know that John Green chose Augustus (other than the Roman significance) because he could transition from Augustus (who he wants to be) and Gus (which isn't as stuffy and who he really is), but I understand what you mean! :)

  5. I of course whole heartedly agree with any mention of Kristin Cashore. And I love Gemma Doyle's name! And for some unknown reason, Peter Pan's name has always seemed perfect for him (even, oddly enough, his evil portrayal in OUAT)

    1. I haven't seen the Peter Pan in OUAT (after they used a taser on wood, I stopped watching), but I've heard the Neverland season is actually pretty good.
