Top Ten Most Intimidating Books
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.
Why it's Intimidating: This is a summer reading book, so not only do I have to make sure I read 39 pages every day this month so that I'll be done in two weeks and not be rushing to finish the essay about it that's due on August 1st, but I have to memorize important details and keep track of characters who hopefully have easier names than Fyodor Dostoevsky.
2. The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling
Why it's Intimidating: Basically, I desperately want to love this, but I'm a bit afraid that I won't, which would feel like a betrayal to Jo. And yes, I realize how ridiculous that sounds.
3. Seraphina by Rachel Hartman
Why it's Intimidating: I started this one last summer, but stopped 100 pages in in order to read Robin Palmer's latest release (Wicked Jealous). I just wasn't getting into it, which was weird because A.) It's gotten a ton of praise and B.) I love high fantasy and C.) Dragons. If I were to start it again, I think I'd really like it.
...and that's all I can come up with for this week's TTT! I strained my brain trying to come up with a few more titles, but this is really it. If another book comes to mind, I'll update the post.
