Top Ten Books I Resolve to Read in 2013
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I hope you all have a wonderful year full of good times and good books. (:
1. Cinder by Marissa Meyer
Everyone loves this and I adore retellings. I was waiting until the paperback to buy it, though. (If only I had enough money to buy all the books I want as soon as they come out...)
2. Insurgent by Veronica Roth
I've owned this one for months and just haven't been in the mood for it.
Cinder (Lunar Chronicles, #1)Insurgent (Divergent, #2)
3. The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling
Thanks to school I haven't had much time for sitting  down and reading for hours like I want to. I want a day or two where I don't have to do anything but read this.
4. Seraphina by Rachel Hartman
I started this one but stopped once Wicked Jealous came out and then never went back to it.
The Casual VacancySeraphina (Seraphina, #1)
5. Mastiff by Tamora Pierce
Finally got my own copy of this for the holidays! So excited!
6. Across the Universe by Beth Revis
While everyone loved these books, I wasn't too interested until I read some of Beth Revis' blog posts. She seems so cool!
Mastiff (Beka Cooper, #3)Across the Universe (Across the Universe, #1)
7. The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater
I need to read a Maggie Stiefvater book! I'm not a huge fan of werewolves, but this book sounds really good.
8. Stardust by Neil Gaiman
I desperately need to read a book by Neil Gaiman!
The Raven Boys (Raven Cycle, #1)Stardust
9. Persuasion by Jane Austen
Basically, I'm in the mood for a Jane Austen book. Another reason is so I can read...
10. For Darkness Shows the Stars by Diana Peterfreund
... this book, which is an adaptation of Persuasion.
PersuasionFor Darkness Shows the Stars (For Darkness Shows the Stars, #1)
What books are you going to read in 2013?

  1. Nice list! I have Austen on my list, too, because I've only ever read Pride and Prejudice and really need to get with the times. :) I'm looking forward to Cinder, too, although it didn't make my list; I have the paperback version pre-ordered. And yay, Stardust! I think that's my favorite Gaiman book. :)

You can see my TTT post here!

  2. I love Persuasion. That one is my all-time Austen fav.

The rest are all on my dying-to-read list. Great picks.

  9. I'm reading Cinder right now via audiobook. It is wonderful! Did you local library not have Cinder?

I want to read some Jane Austen this year, too. I have read Pride and Prejudice (my favorite book ever), but nothing else by her. Whenever I get a craving for Austen, I always end up going back to P&P. I'm hoping to branch out this year :)

Good luck on your reading resolutions!
