Books I STILL Haven't Read, But Have Owned Forever

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

1. The Various by Steve Augarde
The Various (Touchstone Trilogy, #1)
My cousin gave this to me a few years ago, and I've started it at least three times. It's not that I don't like it- I do! Another book always comes around the same time, though, and this ends up getting tossed to the wayside.

2. Terrier by Tamora Pierce
Terrier (Beka Cooper, #1)
I've had this for a few months now, but I'm righting this wrong soon and reading it as soon as I finish The Night Circus! (:

3. Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery
The Complete Anne of Green Gables Boxed Set
I think I've had the whole set since I was six. Yes, six. I just never read them because, well, it's not really the genre I'm into. I like historical fiction, but I tend to shy away from that time period.

4. The Subtle Knife
The Subtle Knife (His Dark Materials, #2)
I read the Golden Compass and thought it was awesome! And I started the Subtle Knife, but couldn't get into it the way I did the first book. I want to read it now, but I don't really remember any of the details from GC!

5. Sold by Patricia McCormick
I've had this one since the beginning of the summer, and still haven't sat down to read it.

6. Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut
I read Timequake and thought it was awesome, but I haven't had time since to pick up another Vonnegut book.

7. Lord of the Rings
The Lord of the Rings
I'm probably one of the only people who hasn't read this series. I read The Hobbit, liked it, started the first LOTR book, and don't remember why I never finished it.

8. The Selfish Elf Wish by Heather Swain
Selfish Elf Wish (Me, My Elf & I)
The reason for this is simple: This is the sequel. I didn't realize this until I had already bought it, and I didn't want to read it without reading the first book, well, first.

9. Seventeenth Summer by Maureen Daly
Seventeenth Summer
I couldn't get into this one, so I gave it up. Maybe I'll pick it up again in the future. Maybe.

10. Saffy's Angel by Hilary McKay
Saffy's Angel (Casson Family, #1)
I got this when I was seven or so, and started to read it. It temporarily went missing, though, and that was that. (It ended up being on a bookshelf elsewhere in the house.)
